While this excellent dollar retains natural color, there are several thin, very old striations in the obverse field, clearly visible in my images. Whether the striations were a half-hearted attempt at initialing or whether acquired inadvertantly, they have been present for most of the coin's long history as they are toned to the same color as the surfaces. While you cannot readily see the striations with the naked eye, they are visible under a glass and in my super-enlarged images.
