Ancient Greece, Athens, Attica Athena AR Tetradrachm 490-430 BC, 16 grams, about 22mm OBVERSE: Head of Athena in profile
facing right REVERSE: Owl standing, eyes facing forward. Moon and olive branch left of owl, AΘE to the right. Guaranteed genuine.
Purchased at a Heritage Auction many years ago. An acceptable example of this very old and rather uncommon coin. Some evidence
that it may have been in a fire at some point but still quite nice. The owl is crisp and clear with well-defined eyes. Coin is a little brighter
and better detailed than it appears in the scans. Athena is much clearer when holding the coin. Ships in a mylar flip.
This beautiful coin will look great in your collection.
