The George Walcott Collection of Used Civil War Patriotic Covers, catalog compiled by Robert Laurence, 2nd edition published by Robert W. Grant, 1975, limited edition of 750 copies, illustrated, 261 pages, green cloth hardbound, used in excellent condition. This handbook has become the authority on Civil War Patriotic covers. After 78 years (from the 1st edition), the philatelic community still uses the "Walcott Numbers" to identify Civil War Patriotics. There is an appendix at the back with the list of prices realized from the 1935 sale of the Walcott collection, by Robert Laurence. One of the most important books you can own for your U.S. postal history/Civil War reference library.
